Anthony Bonifonte, Georgia Tech STEM Expert, visits Miles to present an engaging interactive Math Workshop for gifted, talent development and general education students as apart of the 2nd Annual Science Festival. Students attended an all-day Atlanta Science Expo event at Centennial Park as a follow-up.

L. P. Miles Debate Team Wins Big at Atlanta Urban Debate Team Tournament
Lenora P. Miles provides enrichment opportunities for gifted and general education students. Our debate team, sponsored by Gloria Davies and Pamela-Faith Jackson, has been combing through their social studies texts to find affirmative and negative arguments in support of the following resolve: Is conflict necessary for the betterment of U. S. society? During the first 2014-15 Atlanta Urban Debate League tournament, our debaters, David Leverette and Nykira Walker took home 1st and 2nd speaker awards. This is the the 2nd year that Atlanta Public Schools has sponsored elementary debate in the District.

L. P. Miles takes center stage at the Alliance Theatre during the 6th Annual Young Voices With New Visions Short Play Fest
L. P. Miles 5th graders Amaya McClendon (SAGE), David Leverette (CAMERON), and Ciyoni Wagner (TOUR GUIDE) were featured thespians in a historical drama called PAST MEETS PRESENT written by a 12-year-old playwright named Cristina Edwards. The play portrays the life of an orphaned African Princess named Sarah Bonetta, who escapes the throes of the slave trade by becoming the goddaughter of Queen Victoria. Rounding out the cast were LaTonya Bray (SARAH BONETTA), Karen Cole (MOM), Lawrence Frett (DAD). Mr. Frett is the 2014 Adamsville Primary Paraprofessional of the Year.
